Today we are announcing plans to discontinue the use of Varnish Cache on our customer cPanel web servers, effective May 18, 2016.  We want to focus our efforts on our most important strategic initiatives and ensure we continue to deliver state-of-the-art and high performance solutions.

Up until this last year, Varnish Cache was a useful tool for Zap5 Networks (more specifically with our HostBlizzard division) that we used to help with server load and page load times. However with the advancements in other technologies we use on our servers, the benefits that we once saw are not as comparable with today's current technologies. Secondly, with Varnish Cache the extent of technical complexity is amplified for both our technical team and you, the customer. Varnish Cache related issues and questions were our highest volume of support tickets for 2015. It’s obvious to us that something needs to improve.

Our caching softare will be replaced by CloudFlare in the interim, for which we are an certified optimized partner.

How will this affect me?

The removal of Varnish Cache from our servers will have no noticeable effect to your service and website. Web requests will not be redirected by the proxy caching and will be served directly from Apache.

Contact your sales representative for any help or additional information you may need. We appreciate your business and look forward to assisting you.

Update 05/18/2016 - 11:45AM: Varnish has been sucessfully removed from all customer cPanel servers. If you notice any issues whatsoever please contact us.
